To say that our dogs are more than just pets, but more like our very own children is such an understatement. If you are a dog parent, you would know what we are talking about. Whether you admit it or not, you tend to spoil your dogs because you hate to see them sad and you just love them to bits.
Being parents to non-human species does have its limitations. But you know what they say, anything is impossible only until someone goes out there and does it. This is exactly what Cheryl del Sangro did, she wasn’t planning on proving doubters wrong, but she just merely loved her pup so much that she wanted to show him her world.
Meet Benny. He has earned his fame as the Labrador who can ice skate. But his life is not always this cool and as smooth like the ice he dances around on. Benny was almost euthanized before. But luckily, he was rescued and eventually got adopted by Cheryl.
His new mom loved him so much that she decided to introduce him to her passion, ice skating. Cheryl is an ice skating instructor. Just like any other parent out there, she wanted to impart her knowledge and skills to her new canine child. The only question is, will he be able to learn?
The answer is a resounding yes. Before him, no other dog in the world was able to do this feat. So her mom had her reservations about what she was doing. But Benny, he is just being a dog. A dog loves to play, anytime and anywhere. Skating on the ice just gives him more time to spend with mom, playing.
Benny has been known as the first ice-skating dog. He is being trained to pick up hockey sticks and pucks and soon perhaps he will be employed to these things on the ice. He is also being considered to be showcased in the halftime show of an ice hockey game. See his story in the video below.
