It is disheartening to see an abandoned dog in the streets with some diseases. Especially if you can’t take it home and care for it because pets aren’t allowed in your apartment and a lot more reasons.
Sometimes all you can do is hope that someone or some group will finally take care of the dog. Just like what happened to our canine friend in this story.
A sick dog is habituated in the border between Mexico and California. The dog was roaming around near a house. The resident has his own dogs there told the Hope For Paws that the sick dog loves their dogs. The kind-hearted resident did his best to give the sick dog some food.
Eldad Hagar, the rescuer from Hope For Paws drove for a full day just to get to the sick dog. When he finally arrived at the location, it can be seen that the place seems like a barren and there is even an animal skull lying in the street.
The sick dog was shy to approach Hagar at first. However, Hagar started calling for him and throwing food and treats in the dog’s direction.
It seems like our canine buddy is friendly, it even wagged its tail at some parts of the rescue video!
The dog eats the food thrown at it and Hagar encouraged it to follow him to the car. Hagar keeps on giving it food and treats and saying praises like “good boy”. He also keeps on assuring it that everything is okay.
When they reached the vehicle, Hagar carefully laid out the leash and did not force it on the dog. Instead, he let the dog go into the leash by positioning it in front of the dog and using the food as bait.
Hagar named the dog Pax. Pax still seems puzzled on what is happening so Hagar sat with him for a while and gave him pats and praises and assuring him that it is okay.
Once in the car, Pax slept the whole trip back to Los Angeles. “I am so grateful for the person there who fed him and kept him alive until someone called me…”, Hagar said.
Pax immediately got examined once it reached the shelter. It was found out that it has severe eye, skin, and ear infections and needed a medicated bath. The dog was also checked for ulcers in his eyes.
Linzi Glass, the founder of The Forgotten Dog Foundation, found Pax a forever home after it got medical attention for its diseases. It can be seen that Pax is happy with its new home and family.
Its tail keeps on wagging and it keeps on smiling to the camera. Surely, our fur buddy will have lots of love, attention, and pats from now on.
