Parks are meant to be a fun place where dogs and humans can enjoy and play. However, what they found inside tennis balls in a park on Stockport is horrible.
This incident happened in Lyme Park near Disley in Stockport last May 24. There is a razor blade inside the tennis balls as claimed by a dog owner.
According to the dog owner, their puppies found the balls at 6 p.m. at the end of the park near the Knott car park. With the dog instinct whenever it sees a ball, the puppies started chewing their new-found toys.
However, what lies inside the balls is really horrifying.
The balls disintegrated and what was revealed inside are brand new razor blades.
It is sickening to think what would’ve happened to these dogs if they had to continue chewing the balls or if they had swallowed the blades.
They would surely hurt themselves and can pose a danger to their lives if that happened.
This happening was reported right away to the park rangers and police. The dog owners believe that this act is meant to target the dogs.
The dog owner who reported this incident stated that the balls had been doctored by someone who has malevolent intentions towards dogs.
Their dog took these old balls to the car where they started chewing them. “I even threw it for them! I can’t bear to think of the consequences…”, the dog owner added.
A statement was also given by the spokeswoman for the National Trust. The National Trust run the Lyme Park.
“We are aware of an incident reported by a local dog walker on Friday 24 May. The matter is now being investigated by local police.
“We’ve informed our countryside team who will be carrying out additional checks whilst working in the wider estate.”, she stated.
This incident is also posted on the Stockport Crime Watch Facebook page.
The dog owner advised the other dog owners to be vigilant.
