Owner Laken Molly Richardson opened her daycare just over a year ago. Richardson intended to create a place where local dogs would want to come to spend the day playing and relaxing. By the looks of the video above, she has definitely succeeded!
Richardson now has fifteen dogs who come to her daycare every day. Each dog can’t wait to arrive in the morning. Some puppies jump in the front of the door, eager to enter and join their friends. Some of the dogs escape the grips of their owners to get to the door faster. It’s hilarious and very heartwarming to watch.
Since opening her daycare, Laken and her staff have built wonderful relationships with all the dogs. They consider each dog and their owners as part of the Two Brown Dogs Doggy Daycare family. Richardson said the local community has been incredibly generous towards her daycare, providing blankets and bedding. Someone even brought couches for the daycare playroom.
Located in Greymouth, New Zealand, Two Brown Dogs is designed for small dogs and puppies. Laken and her team provide a day of socialization, integration, and lots of activities and playtime. Laken’s daycare also provides grooming services for any dog in the local area.
Two Brown Dogs Doggy Daycare also offers a special puppy playdate every Monday evening. For a small donation, the dogs enjoy a special evening out together.
Laken said the new dogs she takes in sometimes take a while to feel comfortable at the facility. Her team works with anxious and nervous dogs to help train them to relax. Once the new dogs get used to the routine, they are just as excited to arrive at daycare as the dogs on the video!
