This Goldie Felt Better When Its Best Pal Got The Cone Of Shame Too

This Goldie Felt Better When Its Best Pal Got The Cone Of Shame Too

Penny September 5, 2019

A lot of us have the best pal that we always want to be with us. Some even treat inanimate objects like a doll, a necklace, or a stuffed toy as their best buddy. Just like this golden retriever from Amsterdam.

Meet Barley, a golden retriever who adore its best pal Fluffy, a stuffed toy.  This goldie lives with its favorite hoomans named Zita Butler and Marc Wisselo.

Fluffy, on the other hand, is a stuffed toy who looks exactly like Barley. These two have been together ever since Barley came to live with Zita and Marc.

“A week before Barley came home, we were in IKEA and noticed all the stuffed golden retrievers on the shelves. We thought it would be fun for Barley to have a little friend … He’s totally besotted with his mini-me.”, Barley’s favorite people said.

Fluffy and Barley are inseparable. They snooze together, they chill together, they pee together, and they go on walks together.

“Often you’ll just find them both snoozing together on the couch or watching TV.”, Zita and Marc said.

Since Fluffy needs to be wherever Barley is, it is also with them during their holiday trips. The pair has already explored Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Germany together.

“Marc built a special ‘bakfiets’ (a special Dutch bike which parents use to ferry their kids around) for Barley so that he can travel with us all around the city.”, Zita said.

But it is not always sunshine and happy things in life. One day Barley went to the vet and got neutered.

When the dog got home, it is in a cone of shame. Barley looked so unhappy and miserable, an opposite to its cheery and normal self.

Seeing this, a brilliant idea crossed inside the minds of Marc and Zita. They put a cone of shame on the best pal of Barley, which is Fluffy.

“He looked so sad and we felt so bad for him that we got a cone of shame for Fluffy, too. It definitely improved his mood.”, said Zita and Marc.

Fluffy helped Barley recover by sharing the shame of being in a cone. According to its favorite hoomans, it was the sweetest to see Barley take care of Fluffy.

Barley really loves and adores its mini-me. And do not worry, they have two Fluffies ready at home in case one goes missing.
