All dogs deserve a second chance in life. A lot of dogs in the shelter are all waiting for this chance.
Some are being euthanized in the end because they weren’t adopted. While some are lucky enough to find a forever home.
Just like Princess. Princess was dumped at a shelter and was about to be euthanized when it was less than a year old.
Fortunately, Princess was rescued by the Desmond family. They fostered Princess which resulted in adopting it later.
The Desmond family have decided to adopt Princess and for it to be a part of their family. After this, they took Princess with them to help other animals.
The Desmonds were traveling and have lived in different countries to give help to abandoned Apes and Chimpanzees. They are located in Liberia right now.
The family helped the research Apes abandoned by the New York Blood Centre abandoned in Liberia. The said Apes and Chimps were left with no source of food and water.
Luckily, the Desmonds, the Humane Society of the United States, and local rescues entered the scene and helped.
The family has fostered five chimpanzees to-date now. And Princess comforts them and grew close to them.
Princess helps these abandoned Chimpanzees to adjust.
A lot of the Chimps moms were killed and poached.
“They are being rehabilitated in Liberia so they can one day live with a chimpanzee family, where they belong.” , Jenny Desmond said.
“The goal is to provide care and give them a future lifetime with other rescued chimpanzees, not humans.”, she added.
So basically, they are fostering these baby Chimps and Princess is helping in taking care of them until they are reunited with other rescued Chimps.
With Princess around, the transition for these orphaned Chimps became smoother. Princess became a friend to turn to and a source of comfort for these Chimps.
